At the Table of the Holy God

How can ordinary, sinful people share a meal in the presence of a holy God? In Exodus 24, God confirms his covenant with Israel and welcomes their leaders to eat and drink before him. This remarkable moment reveals the purpose of his rescue: bringing his people into fellowship with himself. Through the covenant blood, the shared meal, and God’s overwhelming glory, we look ahead to Jesus Christ, whose sacrifice opens the way into God’s presence—and to the coming joy of the marriage supper of the Lamb.
